Overview
Unredacted is built on a simple principle: your mood data belongs to you. This policy explains exactly what the app collects, where it goes, and what your rights are.
The short version: almost everything stays on your device. We do not have a server that holds your feelings.

What We Collect
What you enter directly
• Your daily mood input: emotional valence and arousal, your A/B answer, and an optional word
• Your name, if you choose to enter one in Settings
• Notification preferences
None of this is transmitted to us. It is stored on your device only.
Sign in with Apple (optional)
If you choose to sign in with Apple, we receive an anonymous identifier from Apple and, if you choose to share it, your email address. This is used only to associate your iCloud data across your devices. We do not use it to contact you or identify you.
Device data
We do not collect device identifiers, IP addresses, crash reports, or usage analytics. There are no analytics frameworks in this app.

How Your Data Is Stored
On-device storage
All marks, settings, and mood records are stored locally on your device using Apple's standard storage APIs. This data does not leave your device unless you enable iCloud sync.
iCloud sync (optional)
If you enable iCloud sync in your device settings, your marks are synced through Apple's CloudKit infrastructure using your personal iCloud account. This sync is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy (apple.com/legal/privacy). We cannot access your iCloud data.
Photo library
When you save a poster, the app writes an image file to your photo library. The app requests write-only access — it does not read, scan, or upload your photos.
Local notifications
Daily reminder notifications are scheduled entirely on-device. No notification content is sent to external servers.

What We Do Not Do
• We do not sell your data
• We do not share your data with third parties
• We do not run advertising or tracking
• We do not use your mood data to train models or generate insights outside the app
• We do not collect usage analytics or crash telemetry
• We do not have a backend server that receives or stores your personal data

Third-Party Services
The app uses no third-party analytics, advertising, or data-sharing SDKs.
The Sticker visual effects package is a local Swift package included in the app. It does not collect or transmit any data.
Apple's own frameworks (iCloud, Sign in with Apple, local notifications, Photos) operate under Apple's Privacy Policy.

Data Retention
Your data lives on your device for as long as you have the app installed. You can delete all your marks and reset the app at any time from Settings → Delete & reset. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
If you uninstall the app, locally stored data is removed by iOS. iCloud data may persist in your iCloud account until deleted from iCloud settings.

Children’s privacy
Unredacted is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that raises a concern, contact us at the address below.

Your Rights (UK & EEA)
If you are in the UK or European Economic Area, you have rights under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you.
Because almost all data is stored locally on your own device, the primary way to exercise these rights is through the app itself (Settings → Delete & reset) or your device's iCloud settings.

Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
